ePlant is developing a revolutionary new entry in the Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) systems space. Our ePlant Sense and ePlant Stim products put the plantβs physiology at the center of the environmental control system.
I work with a small, but growing, team to develop the mobile applications that we use for controlling our ePlant devices, as well as help with the overall infrastructure of our various projects. Projects include building mobile and web apps that use BLE and NFC with Flutter, Dart and Python.
- Work with a team (both locally and remotely) to build and install payloads that are deployed on Wave Gliders (wave and solar powered autonomous ocean robots).
- Create bash scripts and add to software projects (using Python and MYSQL) working within the Linux OS and Google Cloud Platform.
- Help maintain and add to Company Website and Google Apps (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Google Apps Script).
- Constantly learning and improving coding ability.
- Think up new ideas, both of how to improve existing functionality as well as brainstorm for future projects that can be launched from a Wave Glider.
- Design mechanical parts and devices using SolidWorks and perform Simulation Express Analysis
- Boat operations:
Launch and recover Wave Gliders in a variety of sea states,
Free dive down ~30ft in ocean waters to test hydrophones and troubleshoot.
- Provide ocean equipment rentals (Surfboards, StandUp Paddleboards, Kayaks, Bikes, etc.) to homes all along the Kohala Coast, mainly Puako and Waialea Bay
- Handle purchasing and create business relationships with wholesaler accounts
- Web design and marketing
- Establish and maintain social media presence
- Create custom spreadsheets with excel and google sheets
- Clothing and accessory design using GIMP 2.8
- Work in Material Science Lab (MSL) and conduct Failure Analysis (FA) of various computer parts and components
- Use Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Energy-Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX), Profilometer, X-ray, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), and many different caliber microscopes to perform daily analysis
- Design and manufacture mechanical devices for chemistry experiments
- Research and order essential parts from distributers
- Learn to program and run microcontrollers/microcomputers (Arduino, BeagleBone Black)
- Write detailed reports on findings, including photographed images taken throughout project
- Gained valuable experience with designing protective cases for mobile devices.
- Designed using surfacing in SolidWorks.
- Vibration analysis.
- Created assembly and packaging documents.
- Designing of moveable sensor mechanism that works at cryogenic temperatures and is accurate at the nanometer level.
- Improving telescopic instrumentation.
- Research and Analysis.
- Conduct Reach Studies and Cycle Time Estimates for current and potential customers.
- Work with regional managers to assist in providing price quotes.
- Create and analyze parts to weld in SolidWorks.
- Put together cells in Robot Studio, specific to the customer needs and desires.
- Maintain job records in Encompix and Microsoft Excel.
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical prints.
- Assemble robots primarily for welding purposes.
- Use SolidWorks/eDrawings to view projects.
- Learned basics of Robot Studio and how to program robots to weld.
I am in charge of updating all social networks and webpages for the Adult Learners and Veteran Services office at Colorado State University.
