From theme park stunt shows, to dinner theater opera, to launching watermelons off the roof of a concert hall and everything in between, I've loved every minute of my experiences managing unique projects across the United States. It was never a question of whether I would stage manage, but a question of what. Growing up, I liked plays, enjoyed musicals, was intrigued by opera, and loved theme parks. I mixed, matched, and learned, until I PSM'ed a rock & roll version of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, featuring an LED coat (and a cue for each color), CO2 cannons, and a golden motorcycle. From then on, I knew I wanted to work on the new, the exhilarating, the challenging, and the unknown. Some of my favorite projects thus far have all included those elements. As the PSM for the LA Phil's Fluxconcert, I supported art installations around the Walt Disney Concert Hall, including the aforementioned rooftop watermelon drop. I called intricately-timed cues for the main performance of Fluxus pieces, and generated comprehensive paperwork and run sheets for the simultaneous secondary performances. As the PSM for LA Opera's dinner performance of La Morte d' Orfeo, I oversaw all technical aspects, created detailed documentation, and served as the communication hub for artists, production, and house personnel, which happened to include a full cohort of waiters and bartenders. As the Assistant Production Manager for the LA Phil's Atlas, I liaised with contractors, tracked the budget, problem-solved, and supported the design team in their realization of the 36' tall freestanding, weight-bearing globe that served as the main scenic element. As an SM at Universal Studios Hollywood, I've participated in a long tradition of live stunt shows, where every performance brings new challenges, and learned how to incorporate new technologies (including full-scale projection and drones) into already existing parameters. In live entertainment, anything is possible. I thrive on helping companies and artists bring their ideas from the page to the stage. To me, it's simply a matter of figuring out how the puzzle pieces can fit together to create something wonderful, and I'm a great puzzle solver - there's a reason I've gotten out of the last 30 escape rooms I've walked into.
