Amanda Wellman Msw, Mat’s Expertise I was a social worker turned teacher. After moving our family to Colorado from NY I have blended my social work background with an Instructional degree. I became very involved with the local elementary school. I was hired as a paraprofessional and substitute teacher. In 2017 I started a Masters at MSU and was employed as a 5th grade Teacher. I completed my degree and currently teach first grade. I am very interested in how we use the research we have today to create a trauma-informed instructional environment that can meet the needs of students in general education.
