Claudio Grasso's Expertise
  • I started my professional career a few years ago (okay, okay, many, many years ago) as a physicist at Argentina's Comisión Nacional de Energía Atómica, conducting research on radiation damage. Experimental research required a budget, and back in those days, research budgets were scarce, so I was almost forced to search for new, more lucrative horizons. By "lucrative," I don't mean becoming a millionaire, but just earning enough to pay my bills. I had always enjoyed programming as a hobby (I had also developed a couple of simulations of chemical processes), so I started working as a programmer at Movicom BellSouth, the first cellular company in Argentina. That was the beginning of a new career in software development: programmer, team leader, project manager—the well-known usual path. It's been about 30 years of arduous work, and I can now say it has been an excellent choice. I have been able to make a living while doing something I enjoy. Now, I want to go back to my first loves: research and coding. I am currently volunteering at Buenos Aires Hospital de Niños Ricardo Gutiérrez. I developed the PRECARINA app for both iOS and Android using Flutter, and I am currently working on a diagnostic database system, also using Flutter and Postgres as the DB engine. I am also studying AI on my own and have implemented a deep learning model for body mass percentile estimation in the PRECARINA app. I have also become familiar with vectorial search while working as a consultant for ERREPAR. My current goal is to continue improving my skills as a Flutter programmer and delve deeper into AI in general, and deep learning in particular.
