As a supervisor, I try upholding a Professional/ Laid back environment both for my crew and clients. I enjoy training as a group on things I am both competent and not competent with as everyone has something to bring to the table. Seems in the last 2 years I have been with C-Innovations I have grown both as a person, advanced my knowledge with technical aspects and the understanding of how they work, and the patience to train others at what they may feel uncomfortable doing. I also enjoy the hands on part of my job where I get to reflect back on things I did as a tech both operationally and general day to day activities.
As a ROV Tech my job was to learn a completely new job in both a high paced scenario but with safety always being key. I started learning protocols and flow of electricity and fiber optics. How things where broke down and put together. I was asked to test myself in many areas I had not known I may be good at. Operationally I was challenged at first as I had never been in this field of work but put my best foot forward. After a while things became routine and comfortable to me, and I excelled as a tech and a pilot. In my DTS Tech career I was in charge of stand alone tooling and some ROV support style tooling. My job was to maintain the tools functionality as well as sometimes building from scratch both hydraulically or electrically.
Being a wheeled mechanic responsible for maintaining a full motor pool being ready to convoy out was always exciting. From working on Caterpillar engines, Allison transmissions, mounted tow missile loaders, ETC , to the basic tire change and washing a vehicle down on a wash rack. It was a learning experience for me and made me grow from a boy to a man while instilling valves into me.
