More recently I looked to expand my experience in working with students with special needs. I began a new endeavor as an IBI- Intensive Behavioral Instructor, special day class instructional assistant in mild/moderate and moderate/severe classrooms. I also explored teaching students who were phasing out of SDC and into general education classrooms. I was a 1:1 with students with autism, ADHD, ADD, mobility and physical impairments, severe vision impairments, dyslexia and students with learning disabilities. I was in different settings depending on what the students IEP called for, but some places included the classroom, learning center, book nook and outdoor spaces. I was also a substitute teacher in multiple districts and worked with all grades at the elementary level. I implemented lessons left by the teacher in all core subjects as well as follow the routine as close as possible to create little to no disruptions in the class' daily activities.
