Gerald Craver’s Expertise I have been a program evaluator for the State of Virginia since 1999. I began my career working for the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission, which is responsible for evaluating the operations and performance of state agencies and programs for the Virginia General Assembly. Since 2004, I have worked for the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services, which is the state Medicaid agency. While working at Virginia Medicaid, I have evaluated a variety of health care programs involving disease management, consumer direction of home and community based waiver services, nursing facility quality improvement and work environments, care coordination and integration, and behavioral health. I have a Ph.D. in Educational Research and have taught graduate-level research methods courses at Virginia Commonwealth University. In addition, I am currently serving on AcademyHealth's Health Research and Policy Interest Group Advisory Committee and The Qualitative Report’s Editorial Board.
