- Held various positions in the transport and fuel industry for 30+ years. Started when I was 17 by joining the RAF. Passed truck test, then spent the next 30 years driving anything anywhere all over the world. Not many people can lay claim to this but spent a couple of years operating barrage balloons. Yes, the ones you see in second world war movies. Left the RAF when the family came along. Joined BP in 98 as a tanker driver. Represented BP UK all over the world in driver of the year competitions (DOTY). Promoted to a supervisor of a fuel terminal, started my Health & Safety and Environmental learning curve here and still going. In 2009 as a family, we started to plan to move to Australia, in 2011 we were offered the chance to come to Australia. Started as a casual fuel truck driver, then went back into terminal work, now training and assessing tanker drivers. Joined Hills Tankers in 2015, occupied roles as driver, training, safety, depot manager and now as a compliance officer. Always up for a challenge.
