Job responsibilities included being trained on current lab procedures at the Duncan Plant. I spent a total of four weeks in Decatur Alabama for further training and analyzing production samples. Analyzing incoming raw materials in the Spinning lab that included GC's, PH, KF, RI and color titration to name a few of the procedures performed. Analyzing finished goods in the Carb lab that included Tensil testing on coupons, Instron testing, Denier, Yield, Bundle and ILSS to name a few. Performed weekly instrument checks in the Prepreg labs to maintain machine integrity. I helped to set up the new labs and stock rooms/storage areas for the anticipation of production startup.
Job responsibilities included performing analysis on Metalworking, Ester and Personal Care products. SAP data entry and verbally communicating test results to the proper department. Communicating closely with management , R&D, engineering personnel, team leads and plant operators in a productive and positive manner. Keeping the lab clean and stocked throughout the shift and ready to run for the next shift coming in. Prepared in house solutions, putting up stock and the disposal of expired solutions and reagents. Giving tie ins to the incoming lab shift and team leads of the current production status.
Operated: ICP, Nitrogen Analyzer, Agilent Technologies GC systems, Mitsubishi Moisture Analyzers CA-100, KF Titrator DL 31 & 32, CAV-2000 / CAV-2100 automatic Viscocity tester and manual Viscosity oil bath testing unit are a few of the many instruments that I used.
Job responsibilities included performing analysis on chip filament products and fiber material. Used the STARS DATA system for entering results. Trainer in the Staple Lab for one year until a fulltime trainer was hired. Gave weekly standard flow chart meetings with management and lab trainer. Member of the Employment Involvement Team to help boost employee involvement.
Instruments operated included: ICP, Rheotec Automatic Viscometers for ASTM and Solution Viscocities. Shamatzu GC units analyzing DEG's, EI's and AA's. Digital camera usage for taking microscopic cross section photos of spinning and staple fiber samples. Hernia L-400 Partical Sizer are a portion of the instruments that I used.
Job responsibilities included performing analysis on fiber glass fiber optic telecommunications products. Prepared Certificate of Analysis reports for customers and the shipping department, emailing and faxing required. Communicated with customers on issues involving orders or complaints. Acted as a team lead for one year after a second reduction in the workforce that included management. Duties included supervision of my shift operators and production schedules as well as emailing management daily shift communication at the end of each shift. Communicated work order changes and or trials from engineers to process operators to keep lines running and on schedule. Gave guided plant tours to customers during visits explaining the plants day to day process operations.
Data entry, filing and the archiving of testing data paperwork, organizational skills, inventory and stock control and the release of quality goods were a part of my role as a QA tech. I also helped troubleshoot problems in the lab, CSM and Flex process areas.
