Responsibilities/Activities/Expectations
General:
- Oversee execution/performance of the project and client acceptance before and after completion
- Prepare, develop and maintain the project plan and schedule to meet all project objectives
- Provide budget analysis, labor planning, and coordination of activities of company and contractor personnel
- Monitor project completion from initiation through delivery to meet schedule, resource and cost projections
- Develop, implement, and track project metrics to report performance
- Conduct presentations for department leadership and lead project team meetings as required
Specific:
- Evangelize, schedule, support, and monitor all aspects of Engineering Applications projects ranging from major new software release implementations, license management, training coordination and budget development
- Work collaboratively with all entities involved in the project and serve as a liaison between program leadership, staff, IT departments and the user base
- Serve as mediator to internal issues and conflicting priorities for members of cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or upgraded existing products to the user base
- Perform risk analysis to identify, track, plan/schedule and resolve critical path conflicts
- Utilize project management techniques (e.g., Gantt, milestone charts, etc.) to gauge progress and identify performance variances to facilitate focus and intervention on critical areas
- Primarily responsible for the day to day needs for a very large account within the VS North American Sales Channel.
- Acting as daily “client exec” and/or technical account manager; responsible for: Project Management of CATIA V5 to V6 transition (functional gaps, pricing, logistics) and Bridging customer needs with technical presentations in concert with the overall account strategy
- Coordinating and attending many onsite customer visits and teleconferences between 3DS and the customer.
- Weekly updates of account/project status and monthly executive reviews of account health (Customer & 3DS)
- Also responsible for helping to determine the top accounts within the North America Geography for 2013; data analysis and communication to the appropriate account managers.
- Partially responsible for supporting BVA (Business Value Assessment) within key North American customers, but only one formal BVA performed to date.

- Responsible for supporting our Partners with any Pre-Sales activity related to an area of my expertise within the DS Portfolio.
- Responsible for understanding the Industry and Brand solutions/offers available to our Partners and their customers and ensuring that the “What to Sell” messaging is being communicated to them as soon as possible. Part of the team that is responsible for assessing, planning and executing enablement training of our Partners as their sales and technical team prepare to sell these new offers.
- Responsible for assisting the recruitment team and the subsequent on-boarding of new DS Partners as it relates to my areas of expertise of the DS Portfolio.
Responsible for weekly revenue forecasts for 3DVIA Brand sales for the entire NAM GEO (US & Canada). Worked directly with Brand and Marketing to strategically improve GEO sales. Managed the quarterly pipeline by working with Partners and Customers to ensure the largest sales opportunities were adequately supported as necessary. Created and maintained a feedback loop of customer feedback and lead/sales analysis to the Brand and Marketing teams in an effort better understand what was happening out in the field and what our strengths and deficiencies were within our “How to Sell” and “What to Sell” messaging.
- CAD/EPDM Administrator—Maintain development data access and support for 150 global EPDM users in 6 different offices (WI, CA, Taiwan, China 2x, Holland). Also responsible for training all new EPDM users.
- Acting voice of the Engineering Department Customer for development of all Engineering Systems especially Enovia V6 + Engineering Central.
- Lead Design Engineer (Hardtail Mountain Bikes)—Led the production design and development of Trek 3000, 4000 & 6000 Series & the new Trek/Fisher 29” Hardtail Mountain bikes (Trek’s highest volume mountain bike categories)
Briefly worked on projects related to Bowflex elliptical exercise equipment including: design, lab & field testing, promotional events for the "Bowflex Challenge", Video and Photo shoots of product with live actors, models and users giving testimonials, etc.
- Senior Mechanical Engineer—worked as a mechanical test engineer to diagnose and help determine root cause for mechanical defects and failures during prototype and pre-production testing of different HP printer platforms—escalated issues to the proper design team to help mitigate loss of time and knowledge during the testing stage of development; Created a comprehensive (harness) SAX Visual Basic script for the test lab to use to provide consistent test data regardless of the lab location or technician running the test. Also, modified SAX VB scripts when needed to test different parameters of each platform
- Technical Product Manager—Helped manage: project timelines and engineering assignments for the mechanical aspects of commercial and R&D projects.
- Applications/Sales Engineer—Filtered customer requests and specifications and then compiled internal costing to develop a formal quote to commercialize a custom product.
- Duties—Trained technical & non-technical staff on: PDMWorks, file management practices, product lines, cost analysis spreadsheets I developed, and basic ERP functions to check cost, inventory, and previous billing history, etc.
Communication:
- Attended, as a technical sales representative, the ’04 & ‘05 MD&M (West—Anaheim, CA) trade shows and the 2005 ASHRAE (HVAC) show in Florida
- Daily communication with vendors for quoting, and procurement purposes
- Weekly communication with customers to maintain a timely schedule
Work Description:
- Designed components to be manufactured by a variety of methods: (e.g., CNC machining, mandrel tube bending, aluminum extrusion, etc.)
Example: - Design and development of an aluminum die cast fuel door for the Mazda6 (O.E. accessory available around the world); utilizing aluminum die cast, plastic injection molding, sheet metal stamping/bending, and silicone molding
- Authored installation instructions for aftermarket and O.E. applications. Created text and line art using programs such as MS Word, Freehand, and some Photoshop
Communication:
- Demonstrated the products developed at AMP Research during the four-day SEMA Show in Las Vegas, NV (2000, 2002, and 2003 shows)
- Attended on-site meetings with customers and vendors to ensure proper corporate relationships and for final fit-checks before production
Skills Utilized:
- Familiar with various rapid prototyping uses, techniques, strengths and limitations
- Created component and assembly drawings for customers, O.E., sub-contractor and shop use
- Fabricated prototypes of mechanical components utilizing milling machines, lathes, band saws, drill presses, power hacksaws, and hydraulic/mandrel tube benders
- Performed limited strength testing (utilizing load cells) on components to verify design intent
- Familiar with ISO and QS9000 documentation standards.
Assisted R&D Engineers with prototype development by using the in-house shop to machine and fabricate assemblies and parts for testing and evaluation.
Helped M.E. students each quarter learn the appropriate skills needed to pass the required Manufacturing Processes Lab.
Processes learned by the students: Green Sand Casting, Aluminum Foundry basics, general machining with engine lathes, and basic shop safety.
Also ran the tool room and maintained laboratory cleanliness for safe use of the lab.
Managed the local town workout club when the owner was out of the office. Signed up new members, sold merchandise, maintained the tanning room and schedule, helped to instruct members on the proper use of the equipment.
Student Worker helping the six onsite Pharmacists with any job that needed to be done that a "trustee" prisoner was not allowed to do. E.g., Stock shelves with medication, collect prescriptions from the doctors in the prison hospital, dispose of expired medication, maintain pharmacy cleanliness, help with inventory management.
Helped manage rider groups of 10-30 people on tours of the scenic West Feliciana rolling hills to the antebellum homes that were not destroyed during the US Civil War. Rode from the back of the pack to front to prevent group separation. Drove the sag wagon for those who needed to bail out early. Helped provide food and drinks to the tour group and engaged in very interesting conversations.
