  During my time at NVTHS, I have had the pleasure of working with my peers on collaborative assignments; especially our grade level presentations. Working with freshman students as they navigate through which technical field they would like to pursue provides me with the task of continual scheduling. With my sophomores and juniors, I have had the opportunity to work with them to prepare for their CO-OP and Dual Enrollment applications, as well as, the ASVAB. I have restructured the Dual Enrollment Program and boosted our numbers of those attending local community colleges, earning associates degrees before graduating from high school. I founded the school's GSA and created & hosted our school's first "Life After High School" Parent Presentation. Assisting my seniors through the college application process remains my favorite task, an exciting one at that. My years at Blanchard Middle School is time I will always cherish as well. The unique structure of the school’s day allowed me to counsel students one-on-one or in groups, participate in team and administrative meetings, attend IEP/504 conferences, while also teaching a 10-session Guidance portfolio class to each of my 191 students. For the classes, I worked to design appropriate developmental guidance lessons; with 8th graders learning the tools found within Naviance. My door is always open and I strive to create a welcoming environment for all. That mentality has been fostered through my work in urban, suburban, and rural neighborhoods; attendance at numerous workshops on race, oppression & privilege, and intersectionality; educator conferences, like those through MPY and GLSEN, that showcase best practices; and my “melting pot” of an extended family that represents a spectrum of religious and cultural backgrounds. I sincerely appreciate the diversity that exists in the world, am completely open-minded, and I am more than happy to work with anyone.
