  • With 34 years of experience in the design, construction, operations and maintenance of inter-modal transportation systems, Joe Marie has overseen major public infrastructure projects throughout North America and has participated in the design, construction, testing and start up of systems around the globe. He has spent his entire career in the field of transit having worked for several public transit authorities, state transportation agencies and as a consultant. In addition, he has worked for two of the world leading transit system vehicle and systems suppliers. Joe Marie has served in prominent positions for several state and regional transportation systems. He has also held executive positions with two of the worldu2019s leading transit systems suppliersu2014Bombardier Transportation and Siemens Transportation Systems. Joe has published more than a dozen articles and papers on equipment technology, operations and modal integration for transit industry journals in the United States and Europe. He has lectured at Yale University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Waterloo, University of Toronto, University of Connecticut, University of Karlsruhe (Germany), and Concordia University. In October 2001 he participated in an international transit studies program sponsored by the Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP) and published a series of journal publications focusing on modal integration in the cities of Birmingham, England and Zurich, Switzerland. Presently, he is serving as Project Manager for the following projects: East Side Access Project; Gateway Trans-Hudson Project (Systems Level Design/Program Development); Region of Waterloo Stage 1 Light Rail Transit Project, and; Brooklyn Queens Express Streetcar Conceptual Design.
