  • AACE is a $750,000 angel capital fund managed by 15 cross-disciplinary students from the University of Missouri's undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs. We were responsible for investing seed capital into a variety of start-ups through rigorously conducting pre-screenings, due diligence, constructing and presenting arguments supporting opinions about the deal, and negotiating the structure and terms of investment contracts. The fund currently manages 6 invested ventures amounting to $240,000 in exposed capital. The Biodesign and Innovation Program is an interdisciplinary fellowship at the University of Missouri, designed to bring medical and healthcare innovations to market. Our team identifies needs and opportunities for innovation, evaluates opportunities for market potential, designs and prototypes solutions, and has the ultimate goal of commercializing our products.Centennial Investors is an angel investor network created to meet the early capital needs of university and private sector entrepreneurs in mid-Missouri. This opportunity sparked my initial curiosity in entrepreneurship, and constantly exposed me to startups and the process by which they are evaluated as investment opportunities.Completed research in Dr. Sheila Grant's biomaterials lab; evaluating the antimicrobial properties and biocompatibility of polypropylene mesh conjugated with gold and silver nanoparticles.Assessing business viability of research from the University of Missouri - Columbia.Cerner is the leading U.S. supplier of health care information technology solutions that optimize clinical and financial outcomes. I play a lead role in the value management and innovation relationship with Ascension, a Cerner client and the nation's largest non-profit health system. My role is to ensure both organizations realize measurable value from our partnership, and to identify gaps and opportunities to advance existing solutions and develop new solutions to drive toward achievement of the Quadruple Aim - Better Outcomes, Lower Costs, Improved Patient Experience and Improved Provider Experience.Veterans United is a leader in the VA Loan industry, and is a company dedicated to being an inspiration in the community. As an intern on the recruitment team I serve as a point of contact for applicants and take on special projects as needed. I have taken part in a career fair recruitment process, and have participated in a panel to share my experience at VU.EMI is an organization that designs facilities that impact communities in developing countries. I worked with a team of engineers, architects, designers and surveyors to design a village in Haiti to house displaced survivors of the 2010 earthquake. Our team spent two weeks in Haiti, developing an understanding of how this community could best serve the needs of its members. Upon returning to the States we designed every detail of the layout, then sent our design plans to a local construction company to build.Emzingo is a leadership development program focused on experiential learning through non-profit/NGO/social enterprise consulting projects. I worked with Ruwasunchis, an organization in Manchay dedicated to youth and women empowerment through entrepreneurship. My team developed a marketing strategy for a social enterprise operated by Ruwa that employs weavers, who then use the profits to invest in entrepreneurial ventures of their own. http://mba.missouri.edu/blog/2015/09/international-consulting-fellowship-puts-mba-coursework-to-the-test/.
