Kevin Hicks’s Expertise I always knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur. Growing up, my first business success came in the 5th grade buying candy and baseball cards and selling them for more to the other kids at school. That transitioned into a lawn business, which was short-lived, because my passion for sports took over. I am still passionate about sports and love to play golf, captain an over 30 soccer team, and play any tennis tournament that I can fit in the schedule. My dad was a general contractor, so I was always around real estate and construction as a kid. After graduating from University of North Florida, with a finance degree and specialty track in real estate, I was searching for the right opportunity. I got a sales job and was quickly working my way up the corporate ladder, but I was miserable and realized my ladder was on the wrong wall. I bought my first investment home in 2004 and was hooked. A few months later, I walked out of my Corporate Sales Trainer position with a Fortune 500 company and never looked back. Since 2004, I have founded and participated in many business ventures within the real estate and construction industries. I have interests in several investment companies in the area and through the years I have bought, rehabbed, developed, and sold well over 100+ properties. My focus and passion now is HWP Development, which Emily and I are lucky enough to run and manage together. Currently we are expanding our team and reach in the Greater Jacksonville area and are very passionate about helping all of our team members succeed and giving back in a big way to the community.
