- I’m an experienced digital, technology and strategy leader and love delivering technology products and services that support New Zealand to really take advantage of digital disruption. As Tribe Lead for Managed Services at Spark, I lead a team of 150 people who build and deliver many of the products and services New Zealand businesses and government organisations consume from Spark. This includes workplace (security, mobility and desktop), networking, contact centre and collaboration tools. It also includes our professional services team who work to translate these products into outcomes for our customers. As General Manager IoT and Digital Services, I had the opportunity to build Spark’s Internet of Things business to be a leader in IoT, and achieve higher than 30% year on year growth in revenue and connections. Our team also launched several innovative products including an asset tracking product , a smart watch to allow parents to communicate with their kids without the need for a smartphone, and a services marketplace (wedo). And as General Manager Group Strategy and M&A, I led Spark’s group and product strategy for more than 3 years, engaging the Leadership Team and Board to ensure we had a future-fit strategy and a path to execution. The scope of strategy work was broad, traversing telco, IT services, media, healthcare and other new markets. I also led the acquisition of Spark’s three cloud businesses (Revera, CCL and Appserv), a number of smaller minority and joint venture investments, and an NZX (listed) company takeover attempt for TeamTalk. At Deloitte Consulting (prior to Spark) I worked as a consultant in a range of New Zealand and UK companies and government agencies, supporting them on a broad range of strategy, transformation and productivity, change management, and programme management initiatives. I have a passion for supporting New Zealand education, acting as a facilitator for the Springboard Trust for 4 years, coaching primary school principals through a 1 year strategic development programme. I also sat on both the Advisory Board for the AUT Business School.
