After an early education working first in the cattle and then in the catfish businesses, I was sent away to undertake the studies of philosophy and law. It was during this period that I studied painting with I-Hsiung Ju and held jobs as a line-handler on the Mississippi River (Port of New Orleans), heavy equipment operator, cook, bartender, and meat-cutter. As a Fulbright Fellow (Fine Art) to the United Kingdom I spent significant time working in London, as did my brother D.H. Walker (film) and uncle Lestarjet Martin (architecture). This family peculiarity has never been adequately explained. Originally arriving in Oregon after traversing the continent on a bicycle, I settled here permanently and currently live with my wife and daughter and work as a painter in Portland. Self Employed
