Nancy Kissane's Expertise I am known as a "people person" with strong leadership skills who can effectively relate to diverse interests, cultures, and personality types, and am widely recognized as a person that gets important undertakings done, whether it is a project involving massive coordination, involves hundreds of people, or a simple project with a demanding deadline. My business life lead me into a life-long desire, working in the Catholic Church for His people. It is a passion, not a job. My main responsibility is to eliminate the barriers that stand between His people and their relationship with God. I have worked in all lay ministry aspects serving as the Coordinator for the Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, Sacristan, Lector, Arts and Environment, and Hospitality Minister and other non-liturgical groups where my skills and passions are best put to use. Since 2004, as Ministries Coordinator, I oversee the recruiting, mentoring, and spiritual development of approx 3,000 ministry members, 80 liturgical/non-liturgical ministries in a multiculturally diverse parish of 6,200 families/15,000+ parishioners. Working closely with the liturgist, I assure that our ministry members are properly formed in the liturgical norms of the Church and their spirituality. I am certified as a Lay Ecclesiastical Minister, completing a 4-year program of the Lay Pastoral Ministry Institute at the Diocese of St. Petersburg, and a 3-year Audire Spiritual Director program, certified Spiritual Director. In May 2013, I completed the first Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE). In 2008, I was named Director of Ministries and Stewardship given the responsibility of the Time, Talent, and Treasure and work closely with our Pastor and Deacons to help our parishioners understand that all that we have is a Gift from God. In addition, I plan and hold a minimum of 5 retreats per year, plan the Taize prayer services, and other evenings of reflections and educational workshops. Specialties: Training and development, recruiting and directing volunteers, leadership skills, leadership training, retreat master, stewardship program development and marketing, mentoring, spiritual development, new programs development, design prayer services, workshop development.
