- I am currently in the Engineering Development Program at Honda Development and Manufacturing in Lincoln, AL. The program will have me spend my first 18 months at Honda learning the business from different angles by working and taking on projects in different areas. 1st Rotation: Line 1 Production Support Group - I was tasked with investigating potential quality issues with supplier parts. I investigated and wrote reports on each instance and worked with suppliers and other engineers at Honda to bring about countermeasures to ensure high-quality products came off the line. 2nd Rotation: Line 2 Weld: Process Engineering: Learned about operations standards and how process changes are implemented. Worked with other Weld engineers on various process improvement projects to improve cost, quality, and morale. 3D printed tools in CATIA and SOLIDWORKS to replace the cost of disposable application tools. 3rd Rotation: Aluminum Machining: Reliability Engineering: Worked with planners, engineers, and MRO to validate and update the discontinued and end-of-life spare parts in Honda's Asset management system. Used Root cause analysis to propose and implement countermeasures to equipment downtime in the aluminum machining department. Led Cause Mapping meetings with planners, engineers, team managers, and plant managers to facilitate discussions of process improvement.
