My career in the food industry has spanned 40 years. I have had the pleasure to work with some of the truly great professionals in sales, purchasing, management, and marketing. The first sixteen years were in the family brokerage business. During that time I wore many hats beginning as a retail and foodservice salesman, account executive, vice president of sales, and eventually president of the company after my father passed away. I was president of the company for seven years purchasing two food brokerage firms and starting a food service company from scratch. In 1992 I decided to sell to a regional brokerage firm that would offer our people the best opportunity to grow and expand. The regional company eventually merged into the largest national food brokerage company in the nation. In 1996 I left the brokerage business and became a regional sales manager covering the Midwest and Southeast. I have responsibility for 17 food brokers that do roughly 24,500,000 in sales. My professional goals are to be a valued supplier in each of the customers that we service and to provide the best quality products and service that are available in a sustainable manner that supports the lively hood of our farmer member coop. In 1999 I went back to school to pursue my doctorate degree in business administration. The journey came to fruition when I graduated with a DBA in May 2008. The insights that the Doctorate have given me have been invaluable in understanding and implementing the goals and objectives of Norpac Food Inc. I have able to continue to do research in various areas and present them to both the Midwest Academy of Management and the Easter Academy of Management. Specialties: My experience and academic background has given me the expertise to consult, manage sales territories, run marketing initiatives, and introduce new products.
