I highly admire people like Linus Torvalds who are highly skilled at what they do and are solving real-world problems. The fact that Linus invented Linux because of a lack of freely available Unix OS and Git because of a lack of at-par version control tool, and that he was skilled enough to solve these big problems at that time, is truly amazing. In the future I see myself having this level of skill and expertise that if I face a real problem, I could ask myself "how hard can it be to write my own solution for it?" and I would go ahead and solve it. I highly admire the Open Source philosophy and the pioneers of the Open Source movement. As Eric S Raymond says, "The world is full of Interesting problems waiting to be solved and one should never waste time reinventing the wheel". I am a proud believer of the hacker culture (not the cracker, breaching security). Software Engineer by choice and I do software because it's fun.
