- Reza Habibisaravi MD, PhD, is a pioneer in disaster risk management in Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences as well as in national Hospital Disaster Plan trainers group. He is head of Disaster Management and Medical Emergencies Center at Mazandaran Province University of Medical Sciences. He is also a volunteer member of the Iranian Red Crescent Society at Mazandaran province as well as vice president of Mazandaran Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society. Dr. Habibisaravi served Ministries of petroleum, Power, Interior and Health as a national instructor for disaster management courses/workshops and collaborated with many universities as an academic lecturer for more than 20 years. He contributed in writing more than 30 books in the field of disaster/emergency. He also translated/wrote more than 10 booklets for MS patients. Dr. Habibisaravi is author and co-author of over 40 articles in English and Persian peer reviewed journals and has contributed in 2015-UNDRR framework. He is an editorial board member/reviewer of many prestigious journals such as Bulletin of the World Health Organization, Health in Emergencies and Disasters Quarterly, Plos One, International Journal of Research in Environmental Studies, PLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases, Journal of Clinical and Translational Research and, Journal of Architectural Environment & Structural Engineering Research. He was brilliant talent student at PhD course at Tehran University of medical Sciences 2013 and at Iran University of Medical sciences 2014. He is winner of distinguished researcher/student in Professor Hesabi Scientific National Festival in 2018. He was winner of the travel grant of the ACTRIMS Forum International Congress in the United States in 2016. In 2021, he was selected as distinguished researcher in National Medical Emergency Organization. His research interests are disaster management (DM), health management in disaster, natural hazards, risk management, IT solutions for DM, surveillance systems, and Multiple Sclerosis.
