Ron Savage’s Expertise I've been developing software tools to help people do their work more effectively for about 24+ years now, across various operating systems, databases, languages and technologies. I worked closely with the end users of my applications often developing tools to use myself prior to distributing them, giving me a very strong business/user-centric point of view. I focus on understanding the business model surrounding the requirements for the applications I develop, so that I can deliver what the user really needs even if that wasn't always clearly specified in the requirements – with iterative feedback from the users using an Agile (SCRUM,Kanban) development model. Early experiences maintaining poorly documented legacy applications motivated me to write my own code from the viewpoint of someone else having to maintain it in the future, so I forced myself to develop good coding habits regarding comments, naming conventions and writing simple readable code. Over the years I've received several thank you notes from developers that have inherited my code, so it must be working!
