I was hired as their accounting manager. I became the Executive VP/CFO and was at the agency for 10 years. In 1989 I left the agency in SLC and moved to Wichita. I became CFO for SHS. In 1995 I became managing partner. In July of 2014 I retired. I plan on dedicating the next years of my life to giving back to the communities who have been so generous to me and my family. Church activity is very important to me. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Faith is a very important part of my life. I believe in giving of my time and talents to strengthen the community. I've been in a service business my whole career - and a service business is only as strong as the business community in which it serves. We have to create a business environment that encourages business growth. I believe our community has to provide a great place to live. That requires often times very pragmatic decisions - just as we make every day in running our businesses. But, those decisions must be based on sound values. Family is very important to me. Marilyn and I have raised 6 children in Wichita. They all attended USD 259 and are wonderful, motivated people. Wichita was a great place to raise our family. All six of our children live in Wichita and are raising their families here. Our nine grandchildren are here in Wichita - and our desire is for all of them to have the opportunities for success that Marilyn and I found. State Of Kansas
