Sharon Bickford’s Expertise I was recently appointed as the Director, Customer Advocacy Services for the Office of Acquisition Operations, Department of Veterans Affairs, Washington, DC. In this role, I am directly responsible for resolving acquisition issues, seeking to ensure the customers supported by OAO, internal staff, vendors, contractors, or other interested parties have a venue to raise concerns and seek assistance when they have questions about the acquisition process. I provide acquisition planning support to VACO customers by assisting in requirements documents development and review of acquisition related strategies including annual procurement plans. Additionally, I provide advice to senior VA staff on acquisition approaches and reporting/feedback to program offices and OAO management. My primary CAS focus is to enhance customer service by improving communications and insight into the acquisition process.
