- I have more than 25 years of combined experience in human services and workforce development, with a track record of success in leading large projects and multi-level management teams. My experience ranges from providing direct services to adjudicated youth for Spectrum Human Services, to leading a staff of more than 100 members across several programs as a Vice President for Careerworks, Inc., and managing One Stop operations for the Detroit Workforce Development Department. In my current role as Chief Program Officer for Detroit Employment Solutions Corporation, I am responsible for leading a team of workforce professionals who work to ensure that thousands of Detroit youth and young adults are afforded the opportunity to explore high-growth career pathways through meaningful work experiences, pre-apprenticeships, occupational training, and the supports needed to help them make informed decisions about their futures that can lead to well deserved higher standards of living through economic self-sufficiency. I am a member of Leadership Detroit Class XXXV, an Aspen Institute Economic Opportunity Fellow, certified by the National Emerging Leaders Academy hosted by the Workforce Professionals Training Institute in New York, and a certified Global Career Development Facilitator. I am proud to have received a Spirit of Detroit Award by the Detroit City Council for my work with youth employment, a Women of Excellence Award by the Michigan Chronicle, and been recognized by the Metropolitan Detroit YMCA for youth advocacy.
