My responsibilities include Initial consultation and follow-up appointments for patients with type 1, type 2, and gestational diabetes. This often includes initiating and managing insulin pumps, interpreting continuous glucose monitoring, and teaching insulin to carbohydrate matching. In addition to managing patients with all types of diabetes, I treat or coordinate care to address comorbidities associated with diabetes including hypertension, hyperlipidemia, obesity, chronic kidney disease, neuropathy, and retinopathy. Endocrinology issues including hypo/hyperthyroidism, hypo/hyperparathyroidism, and hypogonadism are conditions that I co-manage with the endocrinologists.
