- Vera de Pont does research and development in the field of textiles and material innovation. Most of her self-initiated projects are based on her vision to prevent waste materials immediately at the start of the production line and to construct (textile) tissues in an efficiënt and sustainable manner. Commissioned projects include experimental machine development and 3D textile production techniques. Together with Anouk van de Sande she forms AnoukxVera, which is a design studio focused on productdesign and visual storytelling within the field of textiles and the direct environment surrounding the human body. Vera de Pont has a Bachelor degree (Cum Laude) from the Design Academy in Eindhoven and a master’s degree in sustainable fashion from the Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam. Furthermore, she studied two years of Biomedical Science and a year of photography, which makes for crossovers between all of these disciplines and an implementation of biology in material design. Vera has presented her design research internationally at spoken events such as TedxEindhoven, Design Indaba Capetown, Made Sao Paolo and A World of Tomorrow in Pakistan. Her work has been internationally exhibited, among which Gallery Lafayette Anticipations in Paris, Mint Gallery in London and Burgasse 98 in Vienna. In her spare time she loves to ride her motorcycle and racing bike with her friends. The rough mountains of Iceland have a special place in her heart, which is often a topic in her side projects such as photography and film.
