He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto's Dalla Lana School of Public Health in 2010 and was a Canadian Institute of Health Research Fellow at McMaster University. He finished his MSc in Biostatistics and Epidemiology in 2004 at McMaster University. Dr. Hossain is mainly instrumental in developing the field of statistical genomics. He has based his current interest on public health research on chronic and infectious diseases involving migration and disaster. Dr. Hossain has published about 100 articles in various international journals, including The Lancet and the JAMA.
