Aleksandr Ivanilov’s Expertise Brief overwiew: After working as an IT project manager for 4 years, I’ve decided to build technical competence and pursue a career as a back-end developer. I’ve been dedicating the last 15 months to studying Java and algorithms. With my determination and commitment, I’m confident that I will succeed in this new role. I bring 10 years of professional experience in management across various industries such as IT management, strategy consulting, and corporate training. Throughout my career, I’ve successfully managed large-scale projects with up to 200 stakeholders and have led teams of up to 10 individuals, which makes me ready for tough challenges of any sort. Java back-end developer background: Although I haven’t gained any commercial programming experience yet, my previous role as a Product Owner allowed me to lead a team of developers for three years, where I was involved in in-depth discussions regarding the implementation of features. Since the middle of November, I’ve devoted my time entirely to studying programming, and here is what I have learned thus far: ● Java: syntax, OOP concepts and patterns, testing tools (JUnit, Mockito), logging, Maven, web-servers (TomCat), concurrency, SQL, JDBC, Hibernate (and OEM concept in general), Liquibase, Spring, Docker, etc. ● Algorithms: familiar with various problem solving concepts such as two pointers, sliding window, hashing, linked list iteration, stacking, graphs and trees traversal, greedy, binary search, dynamic programming, etc. Completed 200+ leetcode problems. ● Front-end: some experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS. ● Educational projects: 1) A “god simulator", featuring an island populated by animals, with a focus on implementing multithreading interactions between 100k+ objects; 2) Text quests in web with an editor and user role model (servlets, CRUD, and JSP); 3) Hibernate configuration for an existing database; 4) Various smaller projects focused on testing, database management, Maven builds, front-end basics, and more; 5) Large Spring project is in progress till the end of June.
