Shimuafeni was the Market Research & Promotions Manager (International Business Unit) from mid 2002 to end of 2004 at Telecom. Prior to this, he was a Market Analyst for a period of 2 year of and served on the Transformation Project during 2002 and was a champion for the Balanced Score Card. Shimuafeni worked as a Chief Statistician at the Ministry of Trade for one year between 1999 and 2000. He also served as a trustee on the Spanish Aid fund, a fund established between the Ministry of Trade & Industry and the Spanish Corporation to benefit the Namibian industries. His first job was Statistician heading the Price Statistics Unit at the Central Bureau of Statistics from 1995 for more than 5 years. Shimuafeni was also lecturing part time at both Polytechnic of Namibia (Entrepreneurship for 6 years); Quantitative Methods for 1 year; 1 year part time lecturing at the University of Namibia (Survey Methods & Sampling Theories).
