  I am a sociologist at the Social and Global Studies Centre at RMIT University, where I teach and was awarded my PhD in 2020. In particular, I'm interested in populist movements that have emerged as a result of the new dynamics unleashed by the GFC of 2008 and the long hegemonic crisis of neoliberalism. My thesis explores three cases: the Climate Justice Movement, the Podemos Movement-Party and the Black Lives Matter Movement. Using a mixed-methods approach I seek to demonstrate some of the outcomes of each movement in the wake of a major mobilisation (surrounding a UN summit or an election campaign) to answer the overall question 'was it all for nothing?' In other words, what are the impacts (defined in terms of mass culture, institutions and policy) that these movements can claim to have contributed towards? In addition to my research work, I have experience tutoring and guest lecturing in a range of social science subjects at RMIT and Monash University at both the undergraduate and masters levels.
