  I have been working as a conservator for two decades. I conserve cultural material, manage art and museum-related projects, implement preventive conservation in for museum environments and conduct lessons related to preventive conservation. In cultural material conservation, I worked on wide range of objects of different media, sizes and complexities. Besides museums artefacts, I also have experience in maintaining outdoor sculptures. My MA thesis, The Art of Patina: Documentation, Patination and Conservation, is a continuation of my interest in outdoor sculpture. It is a study of outdoor bronze, based on the sculptures in Victoria, Australia. The research explored the artistic significance of bronze polychrome patina on sculpture, artists’ intentions, cleaning and coating methods for bronzes, treatment methods, patination methods, and culminated in a proposal for the documentation of outdoor sculpture. Managing projects is an important part of my job scope. I project-managed the conservation of large museum objects such as I was given the task to manage and conserve large objects a Peranakan hearse, a Chinese puppet stage, and a polychrome wooden sculpture of Guang Gong. I also carried out conservation treatments of these, and was the supervising conservator of the hearse and the puppet stage. One of the results of the conservation of the Guan Gong was a joint-presentation at the UKIC Conference in 2005 with Timothy Hayes. In 2008, I presented a paper on the conservation of the hearse at the American Institution for Conservation, for which I was given grant from the Kress Foundation, USA. I participated in the development and inaugurals of three major museums in Singapore. My main responsibilities were to ensure that the artefacts were conserved on time, and ensure that the gallery environments and showcases met the conditions for safe display.
