The Mission’s achievements include the development of a labour migration methodology based on global demographic shifts -adopted by the Governments of Egypt; launching a Migration Governance Certificate at the American University of Cairo’s Centre for Migration and Refugee Studies; initiated a Migration Data Hub -expanded to cover the broader Middle East and North Africa region; launched BOSLA, an App for Migrants in 5 different languages; contributed to establishing state-led migration dialogue processes between EU and Africa; contributed to drafting Egypt’s smuggling law, its referral mechanism and hotline; co-lead two inter-agency working groups on Migration Governance and Migration and security with the Governments of Switzerland and Norway respectively; engaged private sector and goodwill ambassadors to promote positive migration narratives; and recognised for our work on Gender. My current and previous roles demand liaison with high-level State and non-State representatives at national and regional levels. I am a staunch advocate of knowledge management and results-based management, and proactively advance gender equity and equality in all IOM’s work. I co-authored several publications related to peace-building initiatives; the economic, social, political, and security impacts that specific livelihood projects have on developing countries and countries in transition, and, contributed to IOM Migration for Development papers.
