Andrew Dvorak’s Expertise Currently working at Oak Ridge National Laboratory battling climate change alongside some of America's top plasma physicists & nuclear engineers. We are studying Nuclear Fusion, specifically disruption mitigation. My role is to lead the Team through the product development process. From an idea to reality, I help realize the Team’s brilliance. I am a well rounded mechanical engineer with over a decade of design experience, a master’s degree in Fluid Mechanics & Eng Design, years of Thermal & Structural analysis (ANSYS), years of CFD modeling experience (Star CCM+), able machinist (lathe/mill), design review orator, and a highly extraverted people person. I have played team sports (hockey, football, rugby) my whole life, and I developed an addiction for meaningful victory through teamwork, attitude, and grit. Together we win. Previously, I worked in the semi conductor industry (EUV lithography), designing devices from exotic refractory metals exposed to extremely high pressures (~4ksi), deep vacuum, and molten tin. I have been lucky to be on the leading edge of technology innovation my whole career. I enjoy fast paced work places, collaborative environments, and meaningful work. My hobbies include kitesurfing, hockey, being a dad, and most things that blend the outdoors + adrenaline.
