Benjamin Eaton’s Expertise The goal of my career to date has been to make meaningful contributions to the understanding and treatment of human neurological conditions. I have used two approaches to achieve this goal: 1) leading an active research program characterized by sophisticated molecular genetics, quantitative cellular assays, and biochemistry, and 2) teaching and mentoring the next generation of scientists and doctors. My track record as a biomedical researcher is highlighted by technical innovations, cutting-edge research, and scientific leadership. As an educator I strive to inspire with my enthusiasm and my effort, and work to build trust with my students by fairness, honesty, and empathy. I have broad experience from small group teaching to building a new graduate curriculum from the bottom up. I am a strong communicator who does not shy away from difficult conversations. Finally, I am a skilled writer who has extensive writing experience including grant writing, compliance documents, research publications, reviews, and book chapters.
