Benyuan Zhu’s Expertise Benyuan Zhu joined Bell Laboratories, Lucent Technologies (now Nokia) in Holmdel New Jersey USA as a Member of Technical Staff (MTS) in 1999, then became a MTS at OFS Laboratories in 2002, and he was promoted to a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff in 2011. His research interests are in optical fiber communication systems and networks including high-speed DWDM transmission, advanced modulation, coherent detection, novel fibers and new optical amplifiers. He has authored/ coauthored more than 180 journal and conference papers, one book chapter, and he has 19 US patents. He has served as TPC members or TPC chair for the conferences of OFC, IPC, WOCC, ACP, and he has also served Associate Editor for the Electronics Letters, and Optics Express. Dr. Zhu received the Ph.D. degree in Physics from Bath University, Bath, UK, in 1996.
