In 2010 and 2015, Automotive News named Behrendt among the 100 leading women in the North American auto industry. In the same year, dbusiness named her a “2015 Powered by Women” honoree. In 2016, Crain’s Detroit Business listed her among the 100 “Most Influential Women in Michigan”. Behrendt joined Ford in Cologne, Germany in 1978 as a commercial apprentice.
