  I am truly grateful to have worked with some incredible people from all walks of life over the years. Ever since I was a kid I learned the value of hard work while trying to work smart. From pushing motorless lawn mowers to painting fences and figuring out how to build and fix things for an honest wage, I appreciated all the things my father and grandfathers knew and taught me. My first real job started in the oil industry as a welding assistant, then a 'semi-decent' welder, a crane operator, rig hand, the fire crew, and a gas line operator. I even started a couple brush fires. It was a dirty and dangerous job but my father said it's the only trade he knew that can make you neighbor to a doctor without going to school for nine years. I'll always value how hard he worked for our family and I hope to write a movie about some of the stories and experiences being in the oil field someday. The stories pull a good laugh and maybe a good gasp now and then. I absorbed as much education as I could afford attending Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, arguably one of the most beautiful campuses (and most expensive) and a great place to spend summer as a public safety officer to take care of the campus and excel in my surfing abilities. After that, I decided to take a trip East and serve as a missionary in China for nearly a year. Occasionally, I would come across people in a village that had never seen blue eyes. My experience of being in that foreign land helped me to really understand the important things in life. In my poorer post-college days I found a job as a dental assistant and hygienist only to realize that after just six months it wasn't for me. It was too much school anyway. But from there I received an opportunity which I immediately took and spent nearly seven years as a shipping manager, production coordinator and operations manager for the great Tony Robbins. It was a dream job in many aspects in which I was able to travel with him and a bunch of positive motivated TR disciples for a season and see the world. My guru days ended in late 2004 when an earthquake caused a massive tsunami which brought total devastation to many countries, including Thailand where I decided to go, leaving all my stuff behind to see about helping with the relief efforts. I attribute my experience in rebuilding people's homes in Thailand to my decision to be in construction. I'm so grateful for this work life and every adventure it has brought me.
