Brian ’s Expertise Brian Shiu is the current Sales Strategy & Planning Global Lead for Global Retail & Outlet Sales, one of Dell's largest multi-billion dollar business units. He leads the day-to-day operations of our Global Retail & Outlet organization, including Business Management Systems (BMS), projects, initiatives, and the managing of people and resources and acts as a key strategic advisor. Brian also prepares reviews and presentations for Dell’s most senior executives, including Dell’s Chief Operating Officers. He utilizes a customer-obsessed approach and is an expert at the customer value equation and go-to-market strategy, data analytics and maximizing available market opportunity at critical mass while balancing profitability and growth. He also is able to build robust multi-year strategies to consistently deliver sustainable business growth, shift paradigms and modernize KPI’s to unlock new growth opportunities to outpace the market. Brian’s journey has spanned multiple cross functional teams – from sales, finance, marketing, merchandising, go-to-market strategy, data analytics and pricing across all routes-to-market, including global, domestic, retail, channel, direct-to-consumer, inside sales, outside sales, consumer and commercial. He has consistently provided a vision to outpace the competition in every business he has operated in, growing at significant premiums to market, while connecting the dots and teams together to operationalize our strategy. Brian has his CPA & BBA from Canada's top business school. Recently, Brian led a project team for the largest investment ever in Dell Canada’s infrastructure since its original founding, securing a significant multi-million-dollar investment approved by Dell’s COO. He collaborated across all levels of Dell and cross functionally to unify several business units to one common goal and gaining buy-in from multiple Presidents, SVP's & VP's. This investment will deliver a new customer experience, solidify new competitive advantages and offer new multi-business unit revenue opportunities. He was awarded Dell’s highest distinction Game Changer Award. He emphasizes a people-centric approach to managing teams through investing in people – through consistent support, engagement and inclusion, by helping removing barriers, investing in training & career development and empathy, scoring in the top 1% in all of Dell Leaders. He has also received 8 gold awards and several other distinctions for consistently delivering innovation, creative solutions and results.
