Cassidy Sharp’s Expertise I am a qualified archaeologist and trained paleontologist with eleven years of post-baccalaureate paleontology experience and ten years of post-baccalaureate archaeology experience including five years of management and supervisory experience in cultural resource management. I remain an active member of the Register of Professional Archaeologists (RPA) and have updated training through the California Department of Fish and Wildlife as a Historic Properties Specialist including Incident Command Systems Trainings (ICS) for national emergency oil spill response. My professional experience includes seven years of work on high profile construction projects supporting client communication, report writing, supervising and training employees and volunteers, site monitoring and excavation, paleontological preparation, archaeological conservation, collections management, administrative duties, and independent research. I continue to work closely with several local tribal representatives and other groups to ensure environmental compliance on tight schedules. I maintain a strong safety record in potentially dangerous conditions including underground gassy environments, where I retain updated self-rescuer and confined space trainings as well as site specific hazard trainings including pipeline, airport, freeway, railroad, electrical, and fire safety trainings. I have additional experience providing historic, cultural, and paleontological resource sensitivity trainings for city, county, state, and federal projects. Notable discoveries include a previously unknown fossiliferous asphalt seep at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and the only examples of Canis dirus and Nothrotheriops from the Los Angeles region excluding those associated with La Brea Tar Pits. I am passionate about working with dedicated and curious experts to sustainably achieve development goals with minimal environmental impact to pursue a brighter future.
