In the beginning of 2014 the SAFe framework (http://scaledagileframework.com) has been implemented and I took on the role of Release Train Engineer. Helping an increasing number of teams and trains deliver on our roadmap. As of then I have been working as sr. project manager within TomTom, managing the work of multiple engineering teams in Belgium, Poland, and India to deliver working software in monthly releases. In 2016 I took over responsibility for a project management team, switching from software delivery towards operational activities. I became part of the leadership team of our department and we introduced an agile & devops culture. In 2018 the focus shifted towards TomTom's map making platform. I took on the responsibility for the roadmap execution within the department, leading teams of senior project managers and product owners. Our common goals were to deliver upon the product and software roadmap being executed upon by several cross-functional teams. My personal goal was to make them better every day. Since 2019 I have been leading software engineering departments across 5 different locations. These teams are responsible for the biggest part of TomTom's map making platform: an online platform allowing for billions of modifications to our map each month. Recently I took on a high-impact role of technical program director, working across units to manage dependencies, roadmaps, risks, etc while we are delivering our new map making platform.
