I started my career in electronic systems by completing a diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology at NAIT in Edmonton. After working two years with remote telemetry systems in the oil and gas industry, I moved to Victoria B.C. where I bridged over to the University of Victoria through Camosun College. There I achieved a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a Biomedical option. I am currently working full time with Starfish Medical. The wealth of experienced colleagues coupled with a wide variety of projects at Starfish is an ideal environment for a product development professional to grow and be continually challenged. Design Experience and Specializations: - Hardware based safety systems: Interlocking, firmware visibility, high speed signal isolation, fail-safe circuit configurations, medical isolation strategy formulation, IEC 60601-1 compliance. - Micro power sensor based device design: Low power ARM based devices with challenging size and battery life requirements. - Medical optical emission and safety systems: Design and evaluation for compliance with IEC60825, IEC60601-2-22, IEC62471. - Design for IEC60601-1-2 EMC Compliance.
