Christopher Stokes’s Expertise My career path was a mix of electronics repair, engineering and computer/ network services. Below is a summary of the path I choose. • While in High school I did electronics repair for several television repair stores. This was my start into the electronics field. Got a lot of hands on experience with component level troubleshooting. This led me in the direction of electronics engineering. • Moved onto doing electrical engineering for an induction heating company. Decided this was not for me when I spent most of my time in Mexico. • Soon realized my heart was more into computers and networking. I took a network job where I started as field services technician then moved up to operations support and then onto engineering. Touched a variety of network and security equipment with different manufacturers. • I am now at the point where computers and networking are second nature to me and I enjoy the security perspective more. Security threats are always changing and it allows me to become the so called detective to understand their techniques. Most people that know me, say I go a bit deeper than others in this field. I’ve written a book for Syngress, presented at several Netsec conferences, and have been asked to speak about the research I’ve done with several local and federal law enforcement agencies. I’ve even setup several security labs and done live demonstrations for certain “3 letter Federal agencies”. I’ve done more for these agencies but I can’t get into details as various investigations are ongoing with them.
