I had responsibility for the design and delivery of the Initial Crime Investigators Development Programme (previously known as the CID course), interview training at Serious & Complex and Specialist level and Family Liaision Officer / Coordinator courses. I was an accredited Specialist Suspect interviewer and Family Liaison Officer / Coordinator, having worked extensively within the CID since 1993. I have worked on reactive and proactive teams, as a Field Intelligence Officer, on the Child Protection Department and on the Major Crime Department. As a detective on Major Crime, I have been deployed on many high profile cases including murder, rape, kidnap and extortion, animal extremism, industrial and aviation accidents and natural disaster. As a Specialist trainer I also returned to academic study, gaining a Certificate In Education (2010-2012) with an award for achievement. I then gained a First Class Honours degree in Education and Training Studies at the University of Portsmouth (2012-2014), in addition I have completed the Skills for Justice Assessors Award (2014). My aim was to continue to work in the field of education when I retired from the police.
