Daniel Morcom’s Expertise The last 8 years of my career I have been focused the Hard Disk Drive industry as a Program Development Engineer working in both Disk Drive Firmware Development and Systems Integration Testing. As a Firmware Development Engineer I am responsible for managing a group of engineers to develop Disk Drive firmware, explore new was ways to make our drives work in new Consumer Applications and for the development test and tools support of the firmware group. The group I managed in the SIT Lab was responsible for RDT (reliability demonstration test) and for customer qualification of mobile and desktop hard disk drives into our OEM customer systems. The first 7 years of I of my professional career I spent working in storage devices with broad range of technical responsibilities: HDD manufacturing, Linear Tape Drive Development, Raid Storage Subsystem Reliability Testing, of Software development and Software reliability testing.
