I was part of the design team that delivered one of the largest water treatment plants in the country for Irish Water located in Killarney, Co. Kerry. The project was complex and extremely challenging but a fantastic achievement by everyone involved and was rewarded with winning the Engineering Project of the Year in the Engineers Ireland Excellence Awards in 2018. I returned to full time education as a mature student aged 29 which was a daunting task but my work ethic and practical thinking drove me to achieve First Class Honours in my final degree which is something that I am immensely proud of and I have carried that work ethic into my engineering career to date and will do so into the future. I have an insatiable appetite to achieve the best results possible both personally and professionally and this passion drives me to deliver high quality work that I am proud to lend my name to. My degree in Energy Engineering has given me the fundamentals in both Mechanical and Electrical Design and, coupled with my past experience as an electrician, has helped me to evolve and grow on a daily basis in my engineering career. I enjoy keeping fit and play hurling for my local GAA team which I enjoy and I find that playing a team sport can help with my professional life as teamwork can help achieve a singular goal. I also have a passion for music and I am currently learning the piano which is a great outlet away from my working life. Ethos Engineering
