David Laribee’s Expertise I lead Nerd/Noir. We specialize in change strategy and continuous improvement for larger digital product and software engineering organizations. For 20+ years, I've helped grow and transform digital product development teams and organizations across diverse industries such as e-commerce, retail, tech, insurance, banking, defense, and higher education. Throughout my career, I’ve been involved in several pivotal movements in software development. I helped develop the dojo approach to immersive learning at Target, popularized lean and kanban methods as an international speaker, and helped bring the product model into the business agility landscape. I joined these communities out of necessity, trying to solve problems in my day-to-day work. As an engineering leader, I was an early adopter of eXtreme Programming and Domain-Driven Design. I also co-founded the ALT.NET movement, which fostered a global community dedicated to open-source and modern engineering practices. My contributions were recognized with Microsoft MVP awards in Solutions Architecture and C#. Before Nerd/Noir, I spent several years as a road warrior where I was a senior product/engineering coach for David Hussman and DevJam. My journey began on a dairy farm in Upstate NY, where I started working at the age of five. This upbringing instilled in me a lead-from-the-front approach, an appreciation for small, cross-disciplinary teams, and a palette tuned on GRADE A maple syrup. Just the real stuff, please. In my off time, I enjoy world travel, collecting grail sneakers, making beats on my MPC, and chilling with my dogs, Roxy & Hugo.
