This was accomplished by performing internal and external audits. The role allowed me to plan, lead audit teams, produce audit summary reports and deal with potential vendors and suppliers. It provided direct connections with customer and regulatory auditors during audits and offering assistance with responses to audit findings. This included investigating and resolving maintenance errors, incidents, non compliance's as well as any airworthiness and/or safety related concerns reported in the SMS reporting system. SIMS AQD and other Quality tools such as the 5 Whys, Ishikawa Diagrams and HFACS are incorporated to identify root causes and for proper implementation of corrective actions. In the last thirteen years, I have found myself in numerous managerial roles within the Air Canada Maintenance Department and have been exposed to and worked with various levels of unionized and management staff including . My leadership skills have enabled me to evaluate, as well as recognise potential problems, and resolve them with minimal conflict. Previous to joining Air Canada, I was in Flight Operations with Air Transat, Air France and Wardair as a Flight Engineer and Simulator Instructor which supports my understanding of Safety related reports and issues from that perspective.
