  As an educator with nearly 20 years of experience, I've been fortunate to work in a variety of educational settings. Of all the roles I have served in, I've always loved teaching children how to read the most. Over the course of my career, I've worked with many amazing organizations and people. Some of my favorite memories include: - Engaging in immersive project-based learning units with my wonderful 3rd and 4th grade class at Vermont Day School. - Collaborating with school leaders and staff to establish a school-wide RTI system at Tahoe Expedition Academy. - Completing Associate Level OG Certification and teaching students with dyslexia to read and spell using the Orton-Gillingham approach at the Stern Center for Language and Learning. It was at the Stern Center that I discovered my true passion for teaching students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. Through the Stern Center's Orton-Gillingham Institute I pursued Associate Level Certification from the Orton-Gillingham Academy, which I successfully completed in the spring of 2022. Through my Orton-Gillingham practice, I have seen firsthand the amazing transformation that takes place when students realize that, given the proper instruction, they too can learn to read and spell! Most recently I have been working to develop skills in coaching and professional development, in order to share my knowledge of structured literacy practices with teachers and school leaders. Moving forward, my mission is to work with students, teachers, and school leaders to promote literacy success.
