  I started my career (quite a while ago!) in microprocessor board design. Back then (mid '80's), this included the schematic, board layout and firmware. I quickly realized that a lot more time was spent on writing the firmware, so I shifted over to the firmware camp as my primary function. Over the years I've written low-level (boot/drivers/etc..) code for most embedded system architectures (x86, PPC, SH, 68K/CF, MIPS, ARM, 8051, PIC, ATMEGA, etc..), some of them have come and gone! I've worked on most of the embedded operating systems (pSOS, CMX, Linux, uC/OS, VxWorks, etc..). I've also spent a good amount of time up on the host system writing application code (Unix/Linux/Windows). Not too long ago I was deep in multimedia GUI (C#/.NET) work; then back in the embedded Linux space. Currently I'm in bare-metal embedded system firmware on Cortex-M4/7 systems. Aside from God & family, that's where my heart really lies. Fortunately I enjoy it all, and feel blessed to be able to say that. Its just fun to "create" in this environment.
